The SLMB Series Metal Limit Switches are heavy-duty industrial position detection switches housed in precision die-cast metal enclosures, engineered for the most demanding industrial environments where plastic housing switches would be inadequate — including applications with heavy mechanical impact from cams and dogs, aggressive coolant and lubricant environments, high-temperature operating conditions, and installations subject to the mechanical abuse of heavy production machinery. Available in eight actuator variants, the SLMB series provides the same comprehensive actuator geometry coverage as the plastic series in a housing that delivers the structural robustness and thermal performance that harsh industrial applications demand.

Metal housing limit switches are specified when the installation environment or mechanical loading exceeds the capability of plastic housing alternatives. In heavy press shops, large-format machine tools, rolling mills, heavy conveyor systems, and foundry environments, the limit switch may be subject to impact forces, vibration levels, and temperature conditions that would crack plastic housings or cause plastic components to warp over time.
