Product Description

Under-Car Digital Display for Elevator Position, Status, and Diagnostic Monitoring

The Under-Car Digital Display is an electronic display device installed in the elevator under-car assembly to provide maintenance technicians with real-time readout of elevator position, operational status, fault codes, and diagnostic parameters from their working location beneath the car. By bringing critical elevator system information directly to the under-car position, the digital display eliminates the need for technicians to move between the pit and the machine room or landing controller to read system parameters during fault diagnosis and maintenance operations — improving both efficiency and safety during under-car service activities.

Access to elevator position and status data is a fundamental requirement during under-car maintenance work. A technician adjusting car guide shoes, checking safety gear clearances, or servicing under-car electrical equipment needs to know the precise position of the car in the shaft, the status of the safety circuit, the state of the door zone, and other operational parameters that affect the safety and outcome of the maintenance procedure. Historically, obtaining this information required a second person at the machine room controller or repeated trips up through the shaft — inefficient and potentially unsafe practices that the under-car digital display eliminates.

The display is engineered to present information in a clear, easily readable format that is effective in the variable lighting conditions of the elevator pit and under-car environment. Screen brightness and contrast are selected for visibility in both the relatively poor natural lighting of a pit at normal levels and the localised bright illumination created by maintenance work lights. Information is presented in a logical, easy-to-navigate format that allows technicians to quickly access the specific data they need without extended interaction with the display interface.

The display housing is sealed against the dust and moisture present in elevator shaft environments and is mechanically robust enough to withstand the vibration of elevator travel and the physical handling associated with maintenance access in the confined under-car space. Electrical connections and the display electronics are engineered for reliable performance across the temperature range of elevator shaft installations, from deep basement machine rooms to high-rise roof-level installations.

For elevator OEMs and installation contractors who want to equip their under-car assemblies with the diagnostic and monitoring capability that modern elevator maintenance efficiency and safety demands, the Under-Car Digital Display delivers real-time system information where technicians need it most.
