The 22.5 mm Modular Plastic Push Button system is Esbee's most comprehensive push button platform — an extensive range of 22.5 mm format actuator heads, contact blocks, and accessories that assemble modularly to create any required push button configuration from a standardised set of interchangeable components. With eighteen product variants covering every common industrial actuator type, illumination option, and function mode, the modular plastic range provides the building blocks for complete machine and panel push button specifications from a single, consistent, parts-standardised platform.

The modular architecture is the defining advantage of this range. Each push button is assembled from a separately specified actuator head and a separately specified contact block — chosen independently to match the mechanical operation required (flush, projecting, selector, mushroom, lever, lock and key) with the electrical switching configuration required (NO, NC, combination, cage clamp, PCB mount). This separation of actuator and contact block specification allows any actuator to be combined with any contact block, creating a matrix of possible configurations that a fixed, integrated push button range cannot match. It also enables field replacement of either the actuator or the contact block individually — without replacing the entire push button assembly — simplifying maintenance and reducing spare parts inventory.

Standard actuator variants provide the core push button functions. Flush Head actuators — in illuminated and non-illuminated variants — deliver the standard panel push button used for START, STOP, RESET, and general control functions where accidental actuation must be minimised. Projecting Head actuators provide a raised profile that is easier to locate and press quickly, with illuminated and non-illuminated options for status confirmation applications. The Selector Actuator provides rotary position selection with illumination option for mode and setting control. Symmetric Head and Lever Head provide alternative mechanical interaction styles for specific panel design and ergonomic preferences.

Mushroom Head variants cover the full range of emergency stop and safety function actuation modes. Push Function provides momentary mushroom actuation for alarm reset and jog functions. Push Turn provides latching mushroom actuation for emergency stop — the standard E-stop configuration. Push Pull provides bi-directional mushroom actuation with separate contacts for push and pull directions. PTI (Push Turn with Mechanical Indication) adds a visible mechanical flag that changes state with the push turn action, providing a physical status indication independent of electrical circuits — immediately confirming whether the E-stop is engaged or released without requiring illumination or electronic status display. PPI (Push Pull with Mechanical Indication) provides the same mechanical indication feature on the push pull variant. Lock and Key Mushroom Head restricts mushroom head actuation to authorised key holders.

Twin Touch variants provide a dual-actuator push button where two separate buttons share a single mounting cutout — enabling two control functions to occupy the panel space of one standard button. The illuminated variant adds status indication to each twin touch element. The Twin Touch format is particularly useful in high-density control panels where panel space is limited and button count must be maximised.

The Modular Contact Block and Modular LED Holder complete the platform. Contact blocks are selected separately from actuators to specify the switching logic — NO, NC, or combination — required for each button function. The LED Holder provides the illumination element for illuminated actuators, with LED specifications available for the standard indicator colours. This complete modular architecture makes the 22.5 mm Modular Plastic range the most flexible and maintainable push button platform in the Esbee industrial range.

Key Features

  • 18-variant modular platform — any actuator combinable with any contact block
  • Covers flush, projecting, selector, lever, symmetric, mushroom, lock & key, and twin touch actuators
  • PTI and PPI mechanical indication provide contact-independent E-stop status visibility
  • Separate actuator and contact block replacement reduces maintenance cost per intervention
  • Twin Touch doubles button count per panel cutout for high-density control panels
