Product Description

16 mm Push Buttons for High-Density Control Panels and Compact Machine Applications

Variants covered: Buzzer with Illumination · Emergency Push Turn · Flush Head Illuminated – Latchable and Non-Latchable · Flush Head Non-Illuminated – Latchable and Non-Latchable · Projecting Head Illuminated and Non-Illuminated – Latchable and Non-Latchable

The 16 mm Entegral Plastic Push Button range is a compact-format push button series in the smaller 16 mm panel cutout diameter, providing industrial-quality control elements in a form factor that occupies 50% less panel face area per button compared to the standard 22.5 mm format. Available in five variants covering buzzer with illumination, emergency push turn, flush head illuminated and non-illuminated (latchable and non-latchable), and projecting head illuminated and non-illuminated (latchable and non-latchable), the 16 mm range is the correct specification for high-density control panels, compact machine panels, and applications where panel space is a primary constraint.

The 16 mm format's smaller footprint enables significantly greater button density per unit of panel area than the 22.5 mm standard — allowing more control functions to be accommodated in a panel of a given size, or the same number of functions to be presented in a more compact panel that reduces machine footprint. In applications where panel size, machine dimensions, or operator interface mounting positions constrain the available button panel area, the 16 mm format often enables a control layout that the 22.5 mm format cannot fit without panel redesign.

The latchable and non-latchable options within each illuminated and non-illuminated variant significantly extend the functional range of the 16 mm range beyond what a single actuator type can provide. The non-latchable (momentary) option activates while pressed and returns to unactuated when released — the standard push button behaviour for START, STOP, and trigger functions. The latchable option maintains the actuated state after button release, functioning as a maintained-position switch for mode selection, enable/disable functions, and operational states that must persist without continuous button pressure — two fundamentally different control behaviours available within the same physical button format.

The Buzzer with Illumination variant combines an audible buzzer and a visual indicator light in a single 16 mm format element, providing dual-mode alerting from a single compact panel position. This integration is a space efficiency that is particularly valuable in the compact panels that the 16 mm format serves — enabling both audible and visual alert from one button aperture rather than requiring two separate 22.5 mm elements for the same function.

The Emergency Push Turn variant provides a compact 16 mm format emergency stop element — mushroom head push turn release — for applications where a small-format E-stop is appropriate and where the available panel space does not accommodate the larger 22.5 mm mushroom head emergency stop. The 16 mm emergency push turn delivers the standard push-to-engage, rotate-to-release latching function of a full-size E-stop in the compact 16 mm footprint.
